Benelux

AKKA Benelux continues its growth activities within the largest industries in Belgium and the Netherlands

For the past 30 years, AKKA has been involved in large-scale industrial projects in the Benelux’s main industrial sectors: aeronautics, railway, automotive, life sciences, chemicals, energy, telecom and high-tech. Our clients are among the biggest in these sectors and play a major role on the Belgian market: GSK, Safran, Engie, Toyota, Alstom, Siemens, Thales, Total, etc. Since 2015, AKKA Benelux, Matis Benelux and Mathis Netherlands have come together in AKKA Belgium and AKKA Netherlands.

In order to meet their growth ambitions, four strategic programs have been initiated:

  • An organizational reset, making a clear distinction between hunting and Account Management. A dedicated sales department has been put in place to ensure high customer satisfaction and Share of Wallet growth.
  • By setting up a dedicated Employer of Choice program, AKKA Benelux will  recruit the best profiles available on the market.
  • Transformation into Solution Provider.
  • Delivering Digital Services: to meet this demand, AKKA Benelux has set up a dedicated Digital Business Line that will bring AKKA’s digital competences and services to the market.

Some projects

For our client, active in the railway sector, AKKA has designed an ETCS Process Automation Tools suite that allows the automation of the ETCS level 1 and level 2 engineering process. Because the output of the engineering process is generated automatically, the risk of errors is reduced significantly and the quality of signalization data is enhanced.

AKKA put in place a first service center within a major vaccines producer for the routine validation of the Technical Research and Development Department. The service center first got extended to the quality control department and now, AKKA is responsible for the validation and quality assurance of these validations for an entire production unit. AKKA now manages all validation activities within the department, with activities including the writing of validation documents, the coordination of PQ validation with production support, the writing and coordination of the deviations linked to QP validation etc.

NEMO LINK Project – The goal of Elia’s NEMO Link Project is to build the first electrical interconnector between Belgium and the UK. AKKA Belgium has gotten the chance to participate in this project and has been working together with all major players (Elia, Fabricom, Siemens, Tractebel), offering technical assistance during all stages of the process. AKKA has been working on all substations to improve high voltage technical equipment and low voltage protections, logics and telecom. Activities included, amongst others, data collection and analysis, design, equipment specifications, identifying project budgets and procurement, project management, test & commissioning, and site supervision.
