User experience design for autonomous bus

Objective & context

AKKA has developed a combination instrument for the Future Bus test model which unites an attractive design, simple operability and high safety standards. The navigation elements on the bus driver’s display adjust to the current situation thanks to optimal connectivity between vehicle sensors and environmental data – whether approaching the next bus stop, passing through a tunnel, in cases of danger through pedestrians or when monitoring all vehicle systems in semi-autonomous driving mode. A networked e-ticketing system and two large displays in the passenger area ensured a comfortable driving experience for passengers at the world premiere of the bus.
