Under the direction of Derrick Zechmair (CEO BU Germany), AKKA Germany combines its expertise as a strong and reliable partner for the industrial sectors. AKKA Technologies, Erlkönig, GIGATRONIK and MBtech have now been fully integrated to join forces as a leading, European engineering and consulting service provider under the common AKKA brand.

AKKA GmbH, engineering specialist in the automotive, aerospace, transport, energy and defence sectors, is founded in Germany

— 2009

Octogon GmbH is integrated into the AKKA Group.

— 2011

Aeroconseil Germany GmbH is integrated into the subsidiary AKKA Octogon of the AKKA Group.

— 2012

AKKA acquires 65% of the former Daimler subsidiary MBtech, the provider of engineering and consulting services in the mobility sector with a focus on the automotive industry.

— 2014

Establishment of the AKKA Germany Business Unit, bringing together all legal entities within a single organisational framework under one management team. Integration of Auronik, an engineering specialist focusing on infotainment, online services and eMobility.

— 2015

Integration of AKKA RT, a specialist in the development of "light and vision" in the automotive sector and sound engineering

— 2017

Acquisition of the Gigatronik Group, a provider of development and consulting services for the electronics and IT industry

— 2018

Purchase of MBtech and completion of the rebranding and integration process of the units forming AKKA BU Germany

Derrick Zechmair

CEO Germany

Derrick Zechmair joined the management team in October 2019 as Deputy CEO. Since January 2020 he is CEO of the AKKA Business Unit Germany. Most recently, he was Group President for Valeo Germany, where his responsibilities included the market launch of innovative products. As an experienced automotive manager he can look back on various international management positions at top companies such as Siemens and Continental.

Michael Neumann


Michael Neumann studied Business Administration in Graz and Fayetteville, AR (USA) and holds an Executive MBA from the University of Minnesota and WU Vienna. As an experienced CFO, he is part of the management team of AKKA BU Germany since June 2020. Most recently, he was responsible for the digitization of CTS Eventim Austria & CEE and before that for ATOS Central Eastern Europe post-merger integration projects, as well as successfully coordinating the transformation of the financial organization and the establishment of shared service centers.

Marc Sabrowski


Since the beginning of 2020, Marc Sabrowski is part of the management team as COO of AKKA BU Germany. Prior to that he was responsible for the management of AKKA's DSO region. Since 2004, he has held various positions within the company including two years as Vice President Vehicle & Manufacturing Engineering and Business Line Manager Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering.

Uta Schröder

Human Resources Director

Uta Schröder studied Business Administration in Hamburg, Fairfield (Connecticut, USA) and Lüneburg. For many years she has held leading positions in the Human Resources departments of international service and IT groups. Most recently, Uta Schröder was responsible for the personnel management of worldwide production activities, the DACH region and Labour Relations of Diebold Nixdorf. Since July 2019 she is Human Resources Director of AKKA BU Germany.

Jürgen Ströbele

Marketing & Communications Director

Jürgen Ströbele joined AKKA in June 2020 as Director of Marketing & Communications and member of the management board. He completed a basic commercial training and studied political science, modern history as well as economic and social history at the LMU Munich. He is also a qualified journalist and brings several years of professional experience in management positions for agencies and as a press spokesman in various companies - most recently at a major international automotive supplier.
