Under the direction of Régis Sandrin-Guillon (CEO BU Germany), AKKA Germany combines its expertise as a strong and reliable partner for the industrial sectors. AKKA Technologies, Erlkönig, GIGATRONIK and MBtech have now been fully integrated to join forces as a leading, European engineering and consulting service provider under the common AKKA brand.

AKKA GmbH, an engineering specialist in automotive, aeronautics, space, transport, energy and defense, is founded in Germany.

— 2009

Integration of Octogon GmbH into the AKKA Group.

— 2011

Integration of the Aeroconseil Deutschland GmbH into the AKKA Octogon subsidiary of the AKKA Group.

— 2012

AKKA acquires 65% of the former Daimler subsidiary MBtech, the engineering and consulting service provider in the mobility sector, focusing on the automotive industry.

— 2014

Set up of the AKKA Germany Business Unit, integrating all legal entities in a single organizational framework under one management team. Integration of Auronik, an engineering specialist focusing on infotainment, online services and eMobility.

— 2015

Integration of AKKA RT, a specialist in automotive “light and sight” development and sound engineering.

— 2017

Acquisition of the Gigatronik Group, a development and consulting service provider for electronics and IT industries.

— 2018

Implementation of the purchase of MBtech and completion of the re-branding and the integration process of the entities forming AKKA BU Germany.

Régis Sandrin

CEO Germany & Central Europe

After his education at l’Ecole des Mines, Régis started his career as a technical engineer in the automotive industry. He first joined AKKA in 2002 as a Business Manager, and then became Key Account Manager for Group automotive sales. After 8 years as Global Sales Director for Lighting Systems at Valeo, he returned to AKKA in 2011 as Vice President of its Automotive Division. Régis has been working within AKKA Germany since 2013, first as Vice President MBtech and COO of BU Germany before becoming CEO of AKKA Germany in July 2018.

Derrick Zechmair

Regional Managing Director & Deputy CEO BU Germany

Derrick Zechmair joined the management team in October 2019 as Deputy CEO of the AKKA Business Unit Germany and as Managing Director of the regions DNO and DSW. Most recently, he was Group President for Valeo Germany, where his responsibilities included the market launch of innovative products. As an experienced automotive manager he can look back on various international management positions at top companies such as Siemens and Continental.

Peter Mehrle


As an economic engineer with dual German-French degrees, Peter began his professional career as project manager for a large-scale project in hybrid propulsion development. He subsequently moved to MBtech Management Consulting where, after the merger with AKKA Technologies, he coordinated the MBtech Integration Project. In his subsequent position at AKKA Technologies in Brussels, Peter was initially active in Control and ultimately as CFO for the Business Unit Western Europe. After he returned to Germany, he became responsible for the AKKA Business Unit Germany in his current position as CFO.

Marc Sabrowski

Regional Managing Director

Marc took over the management of AKKA’s DSO region, in November 2018. Since 2004, he has held various positions within the company and over the last two years he has been Vice President Vehicle & Manufacturing Engineering for AKKA GmbH & Co. KGaA and also Business Line Manager Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering for AKKA BU Germany.

Uta Breiling

Human Resources Director

Uta Breiling studied Business Administration in Hamburg, Fairfield (Connecticut, USA) and Lüneburg. For many years she has held leading positions in the Human Resources departments of international service and IT groups. Most recently, Uta Breiling was responsible for the personnel management of worldwide production activities, the DACH region and Labour Relations of Diebold Nixdorf. Since July 2019 she is Human Resources Director of AKKA BU Germany.
