Your role in AKKA
I am in charge of Talent Acquisition for the AKKA Canadian entity. I’m currently working at the Montreal office, which has opened in 2010. I manage a team of 3 Recruiters working with me. Team-work is very important since we collaborate all day long on recruitment topics.
On top of that, I am also taking care of the Immigration processes since we hire several candidates from abroad every year.
I arrived in Canada when I was 20. I studied Mechanical Engineering at the Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal and worked afterward in Aerospace, for a big Canadian company (which is now one of AKKA’s customers).
After this experience I moved back to France for family reasons, I studied Project Management, and when I came back to Montreal AKKA hired me as a Project Manager. I started to work in Talent Acquisition while being in inter-contract for few weeks in 2014; I enjoyed it so much and for this reason, I asked to keep this role!
Putting AKKA on the map, in Canada, in Engineering, was a long and hard work for our teams. I can proudly say that today AKKA is a well known Consulting company, especially in the Aerospace sector.
We make the difference by taking real care of people, since the very first conversation with candidates. Feedbacks and follow-ups are an essential part of our daily duties in TA. And I believe our future resources are the foundation of AKKA Technologies’s success.
How do your friends describe you and your spare time?
I love listening to people as I usually don’t like being the center of attention. I am a faithful friend. I like being with young people, optimistic, creative and active. I like running away from bad faith and laziness.
