With the aim of strengthening our team, we are looking for a:

 

Human Factors Engineer – Oil&Gas Sector

 

The resource will be involved in an Engineering Project (e.g. LNG Project), aiming at verifying if in the design phase all the aspects concerning the correct operation and safety have been considered. The resource will be responsible of the following activities:

  • Verify that a valve is positioned in an accessible way and that it can be used respecting ergonomic criteria
  • Check that a valve is accessible and operable also by personnel with a height less than the average height
  • Check that the plant lighting is suitable

Furthermore, the Human Factor Engineer will also involved in the following tasks:

  • Breaking down operator tasks to identify issues with design, systems, processes, and identify opportunities for error prevention (Task Analysis)
  • Assessment of Situation Awareness to optimise operator performance through design (Workload Analysis)
  • Undertake Human Factors work, to support Site Based Human Factors Safety Related Activities, Including Human Reliability Analysis
  • Human Factors (HF) attendance / support to Hazard Identification (HAZID)
  • Identification of Human Based safety claims (HBSCs)
  • Input to the Fault Schedule
  • Human Error Probability calculation sheets
  • Assessment of Safety Actions (SAs) – Operator Claims in the safety case
  • Detailed Human Error Assessment - DHEA Reporting
  • Write Human Factors Integration Plans (HFIPs)
  • Update the Human Factors Issues Registers

Profil

Profile

The ideal candidate has an Engineering Degree in Chemical, Environmental, Safety or equivalent and at least 3 years in the role (HSE and Process Safety, preferably in an engineering company). The candidate has fluent Knowledge of English and team working and communication skills. Geographical mobility is required at national and international level.

 

Requirements

The candidate presents the following characteristics:

  • Knowledge of fire protection engineering standard (NFPA)
  • Knowledge of Hazard and Risk Analysis techniques (HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, QRA)
  • Knowledge of chemical process safety and relevant international Norms and design Standards
  • Experience of best practise standards and techniques relating to Human Factors Assessment techniques
  • Experience of producing human factors reports
  • Knowledge of conducting human reliability analyses and Detailed Human Error Assessments (DHEA)
  • Experience of writing HFIPs
  • Experience of managing a HF Issues Registers
