AKKA Technologies Zürich, is looking for an UNIX/ Linux IT specialist, for one of our clients in the financial sector. As a UNIX/ Linux specialist you help build a meaningful engineering discipline, combining software and systems to develop creative engineering solutions to operations problems.

Your main tasks:

• Maintain UNIX/ Linux operating systems in a core banking environment
• Administrate and tune various application stacks (e.g. jBoss, Java)
• Maintain monitoring systems (e.g. Splunk)
• Oracle Virtualization and Oracle DB experience is an advantage
• Introduce App Containerization (e.g. Docker)
• Delivery of projects in an agile (SCRUM) methodology

Your profile:

• Diploma/BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject with at least 4-5 years of experience
• Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX (Linux) based environments
• Nice to have: Experience with public and private cloud services.
• Fast learner and eager to take on new challenges
• Motivated, reliable, flexible and willing to take on additional responsibilities
• Fluent in English, German nice to have
