PCB LAYOUT DESIGNER

 

Job Description

Mid-level professional PCB Layout and Component Designer, assisting HW Engineers in the board bring-up of complex multilayer high-density printed circuit boards, taking over the development of detailed PCB layouts and the generation and maintenance of electrical design elements in component libraries for use in new and existing designs.


Responsibilities and Duties

Generating multilayer high-density printed circuit board designs using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) PCB (Printed Circuit Board) layout tools, per electrical and mechanical engineering input

Analyzing technical data, designs, or preliminary specifications that are necessary to support the correct PCB design.


Working from schematics, net lists, part lists, and basic description of the board function, constraints, configuration, and arrangement as defined by HW Engineers.

Creating electronic library symbols, geometry, footprints etc. for use in new and existing designs.

Compiling Bills of Materials and specification for the PCB's according to internal standards on part numbering and configuration identification.

Drawing PCB multiple views, depicting relationship of component and parts and identifying dimensions and tolerances.
Ensuring quality of drawings and functionality of PCB's by assisting the Product Engineering and the Procurement Departments in the acquiring of prototypes.

When required, monitoring and assisting the PCB manufacturer in the assembly of prototypes, directly or through the interface of the Product Engineering Department.

Generation of PCB test and validation procedures, to verify complete requirements matching on the PCB prototypes before the Manufacturing Data Package (MDP) is released for series production.
Participating in discussion with Product Engineers to resolve producibility issues.
Consulting with HW and System Engineers regarding model accuracy, design, and drafting standards.
Reviewing drawings for accuracy and compliance with processes and procedures for configuration management.

Profil

Candidate Profile
Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering
Minimum 2 years experience with Altium Designer
4 years experience with precise and low noise analog PCB design
Knowledge of manufacturing process (related to PCB manufacturing only)
Knowledge of assembly process
Knowledge of basic principles of EMI/EMC
Ability to read electrical schematic documents
Basic ability in using soldering tools
Working as part of a team whose members are responsible for different portions of the design
Ability to communicate through frequent meetings and thorough documentation, to keep the team fully updated and focused to the final target
Organized and systematic to maintain documentation in appropriate order
Knowledge of English Language, both in writing/reading technical documentation
