Description

AKKA is present in North America since March 2010. After more than 10 years of successful growth in Quebec (in the Aerospace, Railway, and Automotive sectors), we extend our presence in Canada; We opened an office in Toronto on September 1st, 2020. The focus is primarily given to the Railway sector, since AKKA’s long standing customers are present in Ontario: Thalès, Alstom, Bombardier Transportation….

 You want to be part of the adventure, being among the first ambassadors of AKKA in a Canadian province, discover a different (fully anglophone) work environment ?

 

We are looking for a Safety Engineer, for a mandate in Toronto but also in Vancouver (British Columbia). 

 

We have a very, very long job description (that we may send after a first interview), but what we are mainly looking is someone who has a sound knowledge of the CENELEC 50126, 50128, and 50129 standards.

 

 

 

 




Profil

B.Sc. Electrical Engineering Computer Science or equivalent

10+ years train control experience and/or automatic control in the

other industry, such as aircraft, industry. i.e. related field.

A detailed knowledge of system requirements definition/design, safety

and risk analysis.

Familiar with systems engineering, electrical or software engineering

and electro magnetic compatibility.

Good technical writing skills, good communication and analytical

skills.

Knowledge of CENELEC 50126, 50128, et 50129 standards is mandatory

Excellent command of the English language, both written and oral.

Computer skills, MS Office; DOORS; Modeling; Data Bases.

Knowledge of Railway System Operations & Thales Transport

Automation products is fundamental

Knowledge of specification-driven systems and designs.

Experience in real time software development is an asset. The technical specialist typically works with a team of engineers to define what will be designed; how it will perform and how it will be determined that it is working correctly.

Being fluent in English is obviously mandatory.

Mandate could be started remotely if a work permit is needed, however a relocation in Ontario will be necessary at a certain point.
