AKKA is supporting a client in the automotive industry concerning V&V activities. For this, we are looking for a mechanical designer to support the client's department of Heavy Duty transmissions and torque converters for mobile applications.

Your tasks

• As a “V&V - Mechanical designer” you are responsible for designing and drafting equipment and installations for transmission and component test systems.
• Together with the Test Project Engineers you coordinate and participate in the construction or conversion of the test systems.
• You manage the procurement of the designed parts to realize the test setups.
• Report and carry out associated administration meticulously and share with the Test Project Engineers in accordance with the applicable procedures.
• On occasion you will support the Engineering D&D team to design transmission components.
• You will report to the V&V team lead.

Your profile

• You have a master's degree in electromechanical or automotive engineering or equal by experience.
• Takes initiative, thinks out of the box and can independently carry out assignments & projects from concept to completion.
• You are a hands-on and all-round engineer who works analytically, accurately, qualitatively and project-based.
• As a real team player you have strong communication skills.
• You are fluent in English. Dutch is a plus.
• You are experienced with 3D drawing packages, preferably Creo.
• Experience with FEA (Ansys or Abaqus) is a plus.
• Several years of experience in a similar technical environment is a plus.
• Strong interest in vehicle drivetrains, both conventional and hybrid / electrified are a plus.
