Building on the successful concept of its campus in Geneva, Switzerland, the AKKADEMY DIGITAL in Leipzig is set to start attracting and training the region’s top digital talents. The AKKADEMY DIGITAL will open in Q4 2019.
The AKKADEMY Digital will focus on recruiting the best recent engineering graduates in order to develop a new Digital Center of Excellence for AKKA’s German business unit. In addition to the international scope of the AKKADEMY in Geneva, the German campus in Leipzig will be dedicated to AKKA’s German market and to top customers of the automotive industry in particular.
The automotive industry is undergoing a critical transition as its top companies adjust from being car manufacturers to offering digital and connected mobility solutions. AKKA’s role is to accompany this paradigm shift which requires a profound understanding of cross-sector technological innovation, manufacturing processes and, most importantly, the right talent.
As part of AKKA’s Clear 2022 strategic action plan, the AKKADEMY was created to attract and train the critical talents needed to actively shape this transformation. The new AKKADEMY DIGITAL campus in Leipzig also serves to build a new Digital Center of Excellence in Magdeburg.
Program highlights of the AKKADEMY DIGITAL:
- Profiles: top MINT graduates (mathematics, information sciences, natural sciences, and technology) from top Eastern Germany universities
- Graduation: a 12-month program that consists of a 6-week training phase focusing on innovation and technical expertise, consulting skills, as well as hands-on work on innovative customer projects. This is followed by a 10-month project assignment supported by upskilling training courses on software programming, related to EE/IT. The program is completed with a final certification.

The program has been specifically tailored based on 360-degree feedback from customer-side requirements, the experience from AKKA’s own experienced managers and experts, as well as the input from some highly respected university professors in their respective fields of research.
