Brussels, September 29th, 2021 – In 2016 AKKA Technologies co-developed an automotive maintenance training solution using immersive simulation and virtual technology ‘SIMDIAG’ for Renault Academy in France. AKKA announces today that this solution is now being deployed worldwide in Renault Academy’s after-sales training centres.
The SIMDIAG solution allows the practical training of technical experts in an immersive virtual environment by simulating real-life conditions such as breakdowns as well as the whole automotive diagnostic and repair processes. Thanks to this solution, a technician can perform a diagnosis with the Renault’s own tool (CLIP) used in real-life and carry out the indicated repair procedures virtually.
This training solution brings significant benefits to Renault as it helps to significantly reduce the cost of material equipment (vehicles, fault generation, etc.) and enhance the safety of the training process on EV vehicle as everything is handled in a virtual environment. In addition, the deployment of SIMDIAG to Renault training centres worldwide will ensure the consistency of their training offer and the unified dissemination of best practices to all their technicians and after-sales teams.
