The automotive revolution
Sales of connected vehicles are expected to triple between 2017 and 2022. The car is no longer seen as a means of transport, but as a set of mobility services. Apart from the need to make driving as enjoyable as possible, AKKA is convinced that the future of the automobile is tied up with conditions on board, Advanced Driving-Assistance Systems (ADAS), and connected services. Smart equipment and infrastructures are being developed to deal with pay-per-use (for such services as maintenance and insurance) and receiving information in real-time (traffic, parking availability). The era of the autonomous vehicle has begun. Data intelligence, cybersecurity, home automation systems also come into play.
With the arrival of the digital giants and a myriad of start-ups in the sector, manufacturers are gradually positioning themselves as technology integrators who must grasp the challenges of quality and mass production. We are convinced that manufacturers will gradually strengthen their interaction with suppliers of connected and intelligent objects, and that this is the era of the Internet of Things (smartphones, home automation, etc.). Lastly, online sales and the presentation of accessories via augmented reality and digital display windows using virtual reality will all become common ways of meeting customer expectations.

Full Vehicle Projects
As a general contractor, we take responsibility for developing and controlling activities along the entire product life cycle, from the finalized concept to series readiness.
Styling, clay, surface development, model making, photography.
Vehicle & Manufacturing Engineering is an integrated approach: from pre-development to aftersales through the complete development process. We develop components and systems, as well as complete vehicles. Our manufacturing engineering processes ensure effective Body in White and Assembly planning as well as integrating the complete production infrastructure including logistics and ramp-up management. This combination enables us to shorten development time, increase overall quality and reduce costs.
For connected products of the future, we develop and test individual components and systems (hardware & software).
We combine our electronics competence with information technology, and create solutions to improve products : more functionality, more quality, more safety and more security.
AKKA attaches a lot of value to customer-oriented test implementation. You receive development and testing activities from one provider. We conduct functions and misuse testing in our laboratories, as well as endurance runs for mechanical and mechatronic components. In addition, we can combine testing with environmental simulation. This enables us to perform all the examinations and assessments under severe climatic conditions.
Structural analysis, passive safety, multibody simulation , aerodynamic / thermal-simulation.
Full of power: our powertrain division offers you innovation for your entire powertrain. The heart of the automobile sets our emotions free, and we are enthusiastic powertrain developers for passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and non-road uses. We are one of the leading powertrain developers worldwide. We develop powertrains from concept to series production and closely accompany our customers in supervising the series production of the vehicle. We develop customer-specific solutions with full dedication, efficiency and faithfulness to deadlines. We integrate our knowledge from the first stages of planning to designing production plants and processes. We provide you products that are ready for series production.
Mastering technical and socio-cultural challenges.
Autonomous or human driving – let the driver decide. That’s our tangible vision of autonomous driving: crucial technologies exist and are affordable, however, development is highly complex and the key word is “safety.” Safety implies that all systems can operate under all conditions, that they recognize their functioning, and that this has been tested and validated by all relevant technical tools and instruments.
At AKKA, we validate and ensure the functional quality of autonomous driving vehicles and vehicle systems – for and with our clients.
Digital Services form part of the vehicle function
The vehicle of today is part of a digital network. There is a continuous data flow between vehicle and infrastructure. The B2B mobility service portfolio including fleet management, vehicle services such as OTA diagnosis and OTA updates is growing sustainably. The same is true for consumer functions such as internet radio and mapping services.
When it comes to autonomous driving and e-drive, connectivity serves as the basis for added-value functionalities. Connectivity is the key technology for the mobility of the future.
